# Pilots
The Interspacial Authority (IA) has so far identified 5 different intelligent species in the galaxy. Although they are capable of similar levels of rationality, their body and brain constitution give them different mental and physical traits.
## Pilot Traits
When a Pilot can be minted in [reference to a block](https://guide.degens.space/technical/dmt), their traits will be determined by its number.
Every trait provides a permanent advantage in one of the 4 [skills](https://guide.degens.space/cosmic-rules/skills-and-stats) of the game.
